Pinchas (“Pinney”) Herman provides compassionate, evidence-based therapy for teens, adults, and couples at Garellek Counseling. Serving clients in Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as well as through telehealth across Florida, Pinney specializes in couples therapy, marriage counseling, teen therapy, anxiety treatment, and relationship counseling.

Pinney believes that with the right therapeutic guidance, individuals and couples often discover that the clarity and strength they seek already exist within them. His approach combines warmth, structure, and clinically grounded interventions to help clients build healthier relationships, regulate emotions, and move through life transitions with resilience.

He works extensively with couples using Imago Relationship Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), two research-supported approaches known to improve communication, repair trust, and rebuild emotional connection. His work is particularly helpful for couples experiencing communication breakdown, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, premarital concerns, or navigating major life transitions.

In addition to his couples work, Pinney provides teen counseling and adolescent therapy, supporting teenagers struggling with anxiety, peer relationships, identity development, school stress, family conflict, and emotional regulation. His warm and approachable style helps teens feel safe, respected, and understood during critical developmental years.

With over thirty years of experience serving as Rabbi of Congregation Sha’arei Israel and Director of Chabad activities in Raleigh, North Carolina, Pinney developed a deep understanding of family systems, community dynamics, and faith-sensitive counseling. He later earned his Master’s degree in Counseling, integrating formal clinical training with decades of guidance and leadership. He is especially attuned to clients seeking culturally sensitive therapy, values-aware counseling, and a strong understanding of family and community systems.

Pinney is also trained in Somatic Experiencing and self-regulation techniques, helping clients address the mind-body connection in anxiety, stress, trauma responses, and relationship patterns.

As a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI), Pinney provides therapy under qualified supervision while delivering high-quality, ethical care consistent with the clinical standards of Garellek Counseling.
