Michelle Katz

LMHC
Psychotherapist

Michelle brings a distinct skill set to Garellek Counseling and the field of mental health and psychology. After earning a bachelor’s degree in biology from McGill University of Montreal, Michelle set her sights on a career as a research psychologist, pursuing a master's degree in experimental psychology.

Today, Michelle prefers a more hands-on approach to working directly with clients versus being confined to a research lab. She artfully infuses sensitivity, kindness, and critical thinking into each client interaction and treatment plan. Clients and colleagues appreciate her ability to effectively communicate while remaining genuine, observing without bias, listening with compassion, interpreting data, and creating solutions.

Interesting Facts: I am a board game nerd, and own about 150 of them. Research has shown that board games can be successfully utilized therapeutically, and I am trained in the Game to Grow Method of Therapeutically Applied Role-Playing Games.
